that depends on how you ride it you could do a trail that's not bad at all or you could do some tracks but for me personally i would hurt my self more on the 80 then i would on my yz250( i would go on some jump that the 250 makes easy and just not have the power or speed to make the landing)

Fiber Textile fiber

A unit in which many complicated textile structures are built up is said to be textile fiber.

Textile Fiber is the basic constituent (Basic raw material) required for textile industry.

Natural fibers

Main article: Natural fiber

Natural fibers include those produced by plants, animals, and geological processes. They are biodegradable over time. They can be classified according to their origin:

Vegetable fibers are generally based on arrangements of cellulose, often with lignin: examples include cotton, hemp, jute, flax, ramie, and sisal. Plant fibers are employed in the manufacture of paper and textile (cloth), and dietary fiber is an important component of human nutrition.

Wood fiber, distinguished from vegetable fiber, is from tree sources. Forms include groundwood, thermomechanical pulp (TMP) and bleached or unbleached kraft or sulfite pulps. Kraft and sulfite, also called sulphite, refer to the type of pulping process used to remove the lignin bonding the original wood structure, thus freeing the fibers for use in paper and engineered wood products such as fiberboard.

Animal fibers consist largely of particular proteins. Instances are spider silk, sinew, catgut, wool and hair such as cashmere, mohair and angora, fur such as sheepskin, rabbit, mink, fox, beaver, etc.

Mineral fibers comprise asbestos. Asbestos is the only naturally occurring long mineral fiber. Short, fiber-like minerals include wollastonite, attapulgite and halloysite.

Man-made fibers

Synthetic or man-made fibers generally come from synthetic materials such as petrochemicals. But some types of synthetic fibers are manufactured from natural cellulose, including rayon, modal, and the more recently developed Lyocell. Cellulose-based fibers are of two types, regenerated or pure cellulose such as from the cupro-ammonium process and modified cellulose such as the cellulose acetates.

Fiber classification in reinforced plastics falls into two classes: (i) short fibers, also known as discontinuous fibers, with a general aspect ratio (defined as the ratio of fiber length to diameter) between 20 to 60, and (ii) long fibers, also known as continuous fibers, the general aspect ratio is between 200 to 500.

Cellulose fibers

Cellulose fibers are a subset of man-made fibers, regenerated from natural cellulose. The cellulose comes from various sources. Modal is made from beech trees, bamboo fiber is a cellulose fiber made from bamboo, seacell is made from seaweed, etc.

Mineral fibers

Fiberglass, made from specific glass, and optical fiber, made from purified natural quartz, are also man-made fibers that come from natural raw materials.

Metallic fibers can be drawn from ductile metals such as copper, gold or silver and extruded or deposited from more brittle ones, such as nickel, aluminum or iron.

Carbon fibers are often based on carbonised polymers, but the end product is pure carbon.

Polymer fibers

Polymer fibers are a subset of man-made fibers, which are based on synthetic chemicals (often from petrochemical sources) rather than arising from natural materials by a purely physical process. These fibers are made from:

polyamide nylon,

PET or PBT polyester

phenol-formaldehyde (PF)

polyvinyl alcohol fiber (PVA)

polyvinyl chloride fiber (PVC)

polyolefins (PP and PE)

acrylic polyesters, pure polyester PAN fibers are used to make carbon fiber by roasting them in a low oxygen environment. Traditional acrylic fiber is used more often as a synthetic replacement for wool. Carbon fibers and PF fibers are noted as two resin-based fibers that are not thermoplastic, most others can be melted.

Aromatic polyamids (aramids) such as Twaron, Kevlar and Nomex thermally degrade at high temperatures and do not melt. These fibers have strong bonding between polymer chains

polyethylene (PE), eventually with extremely long chains / HMPE (e.g. Dyneema or Spectra).

Elastomers can even be used, e.g. spandex although urethane fibers are starting to replace spandex technology.

polyurethane fiber

Coextruded fibers have two distinct polymers forming the fiber, usually as a core-sheath or side-by-side. Coated fibers exist such as nickel-coated to provide static elimination, silver-coated to provide anti-bacterial properties and aluminum-coated to provide RF deflection for radar chaff. Radar chaff is actually a spool of continuous glass tow that has been aluminum coated. An aircraft-mounted high speed cutter chops it up as it spews from a moving aircraft to confuse radar signals.

Microfibers

Microfibers in textiles refer to sub-denier fiber (such as polyester drawn to 0.5 dn). Denier and Detex are two measurements of fiber yield based on weight and length. If the fiber density is known you also have a fiber diameter, otherwise it is simpler to measure diameters in micrometers. Microfibers in technical fibers refer to ultra fine fibers (glass or meltblown thermoplastics) often used in filtration. Newer fiber designs include extruding fiber that splits into multiple finer fibers. Most synthetic fibers are round in cross-section, but special designs can be hollow, oval, star-shaped or trilobal. The latter design provides more optically reflective properties. Synthetic textile fibers are often crimped to provide bulk in a woven, non woven or knitted structure. Fiber surfaces can also be dull or bright. Dull surfaces reflect more light while bright tends to transmit light and make the fiber more transparent.

Very short and/or irregular fibers have been called fibrils. Natural cellulose, such as cotton or bleached kraft, show smaller fibrils jutting out and away from the main fiber structure.

Take Care Of Motorcycle Tires' Pressure

One of the critical components of your motorcycle are the tires.

Tires are your motorcycle's critical components. You should take care for them more because it's only thing between you and the road surface. It is important to check not only the tire pressure routinely, but also the entire tire surface for cuts, nails and other items such as cracks, splits and bulges, before each ride. Tire pressure is important for various reasons including life of the tire in terms of mileage and ride quality. Please refer to your Owners Manual for the tire inflation pressures for your model of bike.

CAUTION:

Never inflate a tire beyond the maximum inflation as noted on the tire sidewall. Inflate your tires when they are cold, and be aware that a cooler day may also require you to recheck the inflation pressures due to a change in outside air temperature.

When inspecting your tires check the tread wear indicators (TWI), which are noted by the TWI (some tires may display logos etc in place of TWI) marking located on the tire sidewall.

Look towards the center of the tire to locate the actual tire wear bar which will be located in the tread groove itself, as a raised bar. When the tire is worn to this indicator it is time for a new tire. We have actual samples of worn tires to show you the amount of skin left between you and the road so to say. It is scary. The remaining amount of rubber is actually less than is apparent from the outside.

Hydroplaning is the effect when the tire rides up onto the water surface of the road.

What effects this is both the remaining thread depth, speed of the motorcycle and the amount of water on the road surface. In wet weather slow down and before going on a long ride for safety sake replace your tires if they are near the wear bars...its your skin.

Motorcycle tires work in much more brutal environment then car tires. Because of many factors such as load carried, horsepower and torque produced, and this being applied to a contact surface that is very small by comparison, one can understand why the tires are not only expensive but also work in a much more demanding environment. Therefore keeping the tire pressure correct and routine tire inspection is critical.

It is good idea to attend one of our tech sessions to learn how to plug the tires with a plug kit if that nasty nail has found its way into the tire carcass. That way if it does occur this temporary repair can be quickly accomplished on the roadside.It is important to note, this only a temporary repair, as BMW recommends the replacement of the tire as soon as possible. It is not recommended to patch the tires and or the tubes, as these may not properly seal.

Tubes should always be replaced as these will wear just like the tire itself. When installing tubes be sure to locate the valve stem retaining nut all the way to the top of the valve stem so that it touches the cap. This way if the tube spins inside the tire you can see this by the tilt of the stem before the stem is torn from the tube itself. On tubeless tires always inspect the valve stem for cracks and dried out rubber, since these can crack over time and leak air. This thinking applies to car valve stems as well.

Unseen internal tire damage:

If you have a front or rear wheel that has a dented rim, replace the tire, as the tire has suffered internal damage to the sidewall. This applies to car tires as well. It is wise to replace the wheel as well since it may be internally cracked. The straightening of bent wheel rims is not recommended since you are reworking the metal thus weakening it.

CAUTION:

Do not apply any type of tire dressing to the sidewall or worse to the tread area of the tire, it is very slippery. Use only approved tires for your model of bike. BMW spends much time to determine which tires work overall the best for each model. Rely in their testing instead of doing it on your own.

Pocket Bikes and Mini Bikes Review

You’ve probably seen one before, probably zipping through your neighborhood. By now, almost everyone has seen a pocket bike. Some people think that it's a toy, and some see it as a real motorcycle, only smaller. The truth is, pocket bikes and super pocket bikes are really machines of a sport that has been sweeping Europe and Japan for over 20 years now.

Americans got their first glimpse of pocket bikes a few years ago. They were brought over here from Italy. However, having the bike cost upwards of thousands, keep the sport in a relatively small community. Even though many found it to be cool and interesting, they were simply unable to afford this type of leisure.

The question now is why do pocket bikes cost so much at the first place? Well, there is one simple answer; It takes a lot of money to design and manufacture a pocket bike. The Italians and Japanese alone spend millions in R and D to perfect the miniaturization of a full size motorcycle, and then there was the testing phase, and the marketing phase. All this drives the company's cost up which was pass down to consumer resulting in pocket bikes that were in the thousand dollar range. Fortunately for us today, advance technologies have bring down the cost and now with prices steady, everyone can enjoy what use to be an elite motorsport.

In the world of pocket bikes, there are two types; the pocket bike category and super pocket bike category. So what is the difference between

them? For starter, a pocket bike is smaller in size and lighter in weight and is usually equipped with a 47cc engine. Most pocket bikes are
use as an entry level bike for those that are interested in motorsport racing. These smaller pocket bikes having less bells-and-whistles
made it simple to use and learn. There are three entry level pocket bikes now being offer to the public, the GP-CAGLLARI, the GP-MX3,
and the GP-RSR.

The lightest pocket bike available on the market currently is the Cagllari Daytona. The Cagllari cost the least among three entry level pocket bike but is one of the more popular models. It weights the lightest at about 40 pounds but because of its lightweight, it can the tackle the 40 mph range fairly easy. With its 5 inch ground clearance the Cagllari is the best for enter and leaving tight corners. With the ability of outperforming much more expensive pocket bikes, it not only offers the best bang for your buck but is also a favorite among pocket bike enthusiasts.

The second entry level pocket bike is the GP-MX3. It is completely different from the cagllari in every aspect and is the start of the bigger pocket bike lineage. The frame of the bike is completely redesigned to make it bigger and stiffer. It is also equipped with full body fairing (head fairing, seat fairing, L & R fairing) like a real size motorcycle do. While the Cagllari is ideal and the best for entering and leaving corners, the GP-MX3 with its bigger and rigid frame is ideal for straight runs or drag races.

Last but not least is the GP-RSR. This mini pocket bike is the next evolution in pocket bikes. It maintain the size and weight of a pocket bike but offer multitude of features found only on super pocket bike and full size motorcycle. The GP-RSR is the top of the line mini pocket bike and is currently the best entry level pocket bike available. It is almost identical to the Gp-mx3 except a few upgrades that are unique only to this model. Unlike the GP-MX, the GP-RSR offers a much more aggressive low profile design. It also offers the best features of both the Cagllari and the MX-3 and none of their weakness. What make the GP-RSR truly amazing is that it is equipped with an adjustable rear suspension that makes this bike not only looks like the real deal but ride like one as well. As a result of the added rear suspension, the RSR have a longer wheel base and is the biggest of the three entry level pocket bike.

If 47cc pocket bike is not appealing enough, then try the second type of pocket bike, the super pocket bikes. The demand for more speed and more option made the super pocket bike possible as the mini pocket bike became more affordable. Super pocket bikes are larger, more comfortable and have many more features that resemble a full size motorcycle. These are more street bikes than they are track bikes because of their size and design. The larger pocket bike is usually equipped with an 110cc motor instead of the 47cc and comes optional with automatic or manual transmission. Riding a super pocket bike is definitely not the same as riding a mini pocket bike since shifting gears are necessary especially in the manual models. Most of these super pocket bikes are even more replicas of full size motorcycle, having headlights, taillights, suspensions, horns, hydraulic brakes, keys and electric starter instead of a pull starter.

Whereas, if one wants to opt for touring tires, then the requirement for that person is a tire that is made of synthetic rubber in addition to a complex mesh which enables the tire to handle loads and still provide comfort to the riders. But for both the types mentioned, one should never forget the relevant motorcycle gear that is required because safety can never be jeopardized at any cost.
