Question by Nathan: Dual sport/Dual purpose major bike questions? Ok so i want a bike for 80-90% street and highway use, and 10-20% off road (like sanddunes,trails). Some of you might say "then get a street bike!" but i hate the looks of all street bikes and i love the idea of a bike i can drive on the street but if i need to take a shortcut on a trail i can and i look good doing it. 1) Honda XR650L--- looks are a 7 cause it looks like a plain jane dirt bike. Power is a 10 cause from reviews iv read it has tons of torque, lots of HP, and cruises at 70mph no problem, and tops out at 110 Conclusion=I wish it looked better 2) '08 Suzuki DR650SE---- looks 8, looks more modernized than the honda, but still pretty basic. Power=unsure. Conclusion=i wish it looked like the DRZ400SM (that bike is PERFECT except its only 400cc) Honestly the drz400sm looks like a 10 out of 10...but i just am 90% sure its 400cc engine wont cut it...i need a bike that can handle highway cruising with ease...a bike that can top out at like 100 or more. Some info Im 6'4 250lbs I dont want to pay more than 6,500ish The perfect bike looks wise is the Suzuki DRZ400SM but its engine is probably lacking in what i desire. The perfect bike power wise is the XR650L It tops out at 110mph, iv read it has crazy torque and cruises at 70mph easy. The reasons the DRZ400SM is perfect...all black..the tires are what il need for street driving, the shape and style which are like 80% off road and 20% street style...(compared to the kawasaki dual sport which is like 80% street looking and thats UGLY) i thought i said it already but i hate the klr cause its ugly, looks retarded. Consider the Kawasaki KLR650 I would always recommend a Honda over any other brand, but I've never read any good reviews on the XR650L Search the web for the Kawasaki. You're right, a 400 is way under powered.
