Buying Motorcycle Parts-Customizing Your Motorcycle

Buying Motorcycle Parts–Customizing

Customizing your motorcycle can be expensive. When you can,you can buy your parts from a local motorcycle dealer. They may not have the custom made Motorcycle Parts that you are looking for however,it is easier to take a part back if you have a problem.Sometimes, whenever I feel that my local dealer is not giving me the best price or is too expensive,I will start shopping around on the Internet. The internet is vast and you can almost just about find anything imaginable online for your bike if you look hard enough. My best way of checking out what's on the internet is check out the websites of manufacturers of the parts I'm looking for.Another place to look is big mail-order houses, where you can even find used parts that may suit your needs. The problem with buying on the Internet,is that it can be a hassle to return a part if it doesn't fit.Or,if you are not careful, you can get ripped off.Scams are more likely to happen if you are dealing with a person across the country than if you are dealing with a reputable store.

Making sure the motorcycle part is worth the price

Check out the prices of what you are looking for at dealerships in your area firs.Use the Internet to compare prices.Don't buy the first set of saddlebags you come across when searching on the internet. You are sure to find the same thing cheaper elsewhere.if you start to see similar prices for the same product, you can be sure that the price of the part is just about right.Spend a little time, doing this type of research. You could actually save quite a sum of money this way.Honda Motorcycle Parts

Finding deals online

I would rather let you know that you probably won't find deals on some items, though. For instance, aftermarket motorcycle wheels are always full price. You may be able to find used wheels from private dealers or salvage yards, buy you are taking a chance that the wheels have flaws, such as cracks, that could cause them to explode while you are riding down the road.Ultimately, though,a part is worth what you are willing to spend for it.If you really, really want it,and it will make your motorcycle look great, then go for it!Spend the cash. The great thing about customizing your motorcycle is that you don't have to do all the improvements at once. You can add bits as your budget allows. For example, you can add relatively inexpensive items of Yamaha Motorcycle Parts, such as saddlebags, new hand grips, new levers,or new mirrors.Once you are ready to spend a bit more, you can make suspension upgrades and brake upgrades.

Our business was start from Ebay.we sells motorcycle parts and Motorcycle Fairings on Ebay since 2008,we have served thousands of motorcycle rider worldwide and get thousands of good review.During these years we have acquired a lot of Motorcycle Parts selling experience and cooperate with many parts factory to ensure our service and products can outstanding.

Biker Patches, Motorcycle Fairings And Motorcycle Brakes

Biker patches usually are worn to indicate an affiliation with a motorcycle club. The embroidered patches are worn on the back of a vest or coat to allow the biker to show his or her affiliation and to express some individual identity. Motorcycle enthusiasts use biker patches to express likes and
dislikes.Biker patches come in various layouts and in one and two piece designs. There is no rule set in stone about how the patches are laid out and it is usually left up to the individual biker to select the patches that they prefer to use. Biker patches that indicate an affiliation with a motorcycle club may be designed in a specific way, however. http://www.idealhere.com/wholesale-Fairing_c111780

The designs that a biker wears does not have to indicate any association with a motorcycle club. Talented artists create embroidered patches that can be worn to display patriotism, a specific motorcycle such as Harley Davidson or custom patches that indicate anything the biker wants on his or her patch. Eagles are featured frequently in biker patches. The artistry in the designs is absolutely stunning and many of the artists have a large selection of designs available for bikers to wear. Flags, skulls, military symbols and much more grace these decorative patches.

The sometimes offensive biker patches have real meaning to the men and women who wear them proudly. Many would be shocked to learn of the actual meaning behind some of the most offensive biker patches, but the symbols are deeply personal to the people wearing them. Many times biker patches indicate a geographic location that identifies bikers from all over the country during bike weeks and events all over the country. During bike weeks in various parts of the country, riders from all over converge on a city for a week of riding and enjoying the various activities in the area. Daytona Beach, Florida has two bike weeks every year where thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts enjoy the spectacular and world famous Daytona Beach while riding the loop.

During these events, biker patches help the motorcyclists identify each other and their affiliations. The embroidered patches give bikers from all over the country a chance to find out about others in different locations. Biker patches are available in specialty motorcycle shops and online from various talented artists. The designs are numerous and it might be difficult to find just the right patch to express exactly what the biker wants to say. Members of a bike club can get together and find a patch that works for all the members. The biker patch can be made more individual by adding locations and other information that is specific to the club. Many of the biker patches can be designed by the biker themselves to express their own creativity. Simply send a design to the bike patch creator and chances are they can create a fabulous patch with the colors you want in the design that best suits your personal style. http://www.idealhere.com/wholesale-Brakes_c340

Biker patches are usually purchased by those who take their motorcycle very seriously. Motorcycle riders are a proud group of folks who enjoy displaying their love for motorcycles on their clothing and in the biker patches that they wear. It is a culture that has as many different looks as it does enthusiasts. There are people who ride on motorcycles and there are those that live the lifestyle. The difference may be in the biker patches that they choose to wear. Choose the biker patch that best expresses your enthusiasm for motorcycles.

Question by aslbqueen81: Mondays Jon and Kate Plus 8?
On Monday's Jon and Kate Plus 8, Senior, Junior and Mikey Teutul of TLC's American Chopper popped by the family's Pennsylvania home to help Jon custom build a chopper. (The episode featured some of the same footage that aired on a Chopper episode last week.) "I don't really like motorcycles, generally speaking," Kate told the men. Still, she sucked it up and went on a bike ride ("I gotta change out of this skirt," she told the guys.) After changing, Kate got miffed that everyone wasn't ready to bike. "Are we gonna do this or are we gonna talk about it?" she asked the group of men. "I don't like to talk," she then said, explaining that she is a "doer." During the ride, Kate complained that Senior was "sweaty." She also said that he was "blown away" that she agreed to ride with him. "I was shocked at myself too," she added. Senior's only complain about Kate? "She said I was sweaty." Look back at Jon and Kate's tumultuous past few months The Gosselin kids got in on the action too, as the Teutul men brought an art project for them to work on. Kate remarked that the project looked like "something they got out of the trash can." "The organization was not there," she said. She even asked the men, "Who organized this?" "It was pretty much all these random parts and pieces," she explained. Still, she said, "the kids had a blast, which was the funniest part." See adorable photos of the Gosselin kids "It was the messiest, junkiest art project ever," she went on. "I guess when you make chopper guys do an art project, that's what you get."

Now I'm sorry if what i am about to say offends some people, but if it bothers you so much, don't respond to it.

Now to me, Kate sounds like a B*&%^/!!! She complains about how sweaty they are and blah blah blah. Then complains that the project the guys brought for the kids was messy and not well thought out. Here are my thoughts:

First off, he offered you a ride, you didn't have to take it. You could have just said no thank you and went back to the kids. What the hell do you expect when you have a guy who has been out in the sun all day not to be sweaty. And secondly, instead of being grateful or whatever for the guys bringing the kids a project to keep them preoccupied or whatever, what does she do, she b*&^%^. So what if it was messy or not "well thought out" the fact that the thought of the kids to bring something to be entertained she could have been a bit more grateful.

I was on Kate's side on everything that is going on, but at this point, I dislike her.

Best answer:

Answer by Total morons! With nothing 2 do.
I started to dislike her myself...last season. She has lost her humbleness. As soon as she got the sitters and had everyone wait on her she has become such a diva. She does nothing anymore!! She is never hands on with the kids anymore and always looking for something to do where she doesn't have to do anything with them. Sad sad sad!!! Jon actually cares for the kids and is always with them when he is around them. The kids notice. It is just sad. It will come back to bite her in the Ass sooner or later.

Motorcycle Accident Lawyer Recovering your Claims without Hassle

Since most motorcycles are ridden roughly and at extremely high speeds this abysmal figure sets newer records with each passing year as we see the increase in the sales columns too. A spine staggering fact remains that there are 37 motorcycle casualties for every one automobile death recorded. This one statistic alone says it all about the levels of risk involved every time we ride a bike or be seated at the pillion. Going by the high ratio of Motorcycle Accidents and related deaths reported by the lawyers working therein, it is a natural thought pattern that most of these are youngsters below the age of 25. However an equally eye opening fact is that middle aged people over forty are equal consumers of motorcycles.

It is found that nearly two-thirds of all motorcycle related accidents are due to either petrol & gas leakage or due to some commonplace technical snag that hinders the smooth flow of the machinery. As a precaution it is suggested that the very first preventive measure any rider needs to apply is to distance him, if he feels something going out of control. Being fully laden with the highly inflammable petrol they have high chances of bursting and being blown out altogether.

Motorcycle Accident Lawyers have for long been dealing with such cases and advise that all such incidents need to be brought to the detailed attention of the government or the Police personnel available at the nearest. Once recorded in detail with all facts and witnesses along with the circumstantial inspection carried out by themselves, it goes a long way in restoring the compensation or insurance claims back to the rider. Also the this endeavor helps the government to take steps in creating awareness and work towards the practice of safe riding cause for the well being of the community.

With the help of professional advice from Motorcycle Accident Lawyers the rider in question not only stands the best chance to recover his claims but also against the manufacturing company that the motorcycle endorses. Any defect of layout or in the designing or even in the assembling of various motorcycle parts which can be substantially proven bears a heavy potential of the bike maker to be framed and consequently targeted. Furthermore added accessories like helmets, gears, windpipes, tyres and shock absorbing parts are fully liable to be chased for complete recovery.

As the financial impact as well as the loss of health is the main impacts of any Motorcycle accident, the professional lawyer can step in here to help the client recover most of the incurred medical bills. Along with this the tests involved which are getting costlier by the day as well as the care for therapies are all legally claimable. In cases of permanent damage caused like disability or amputation cases, it depends on the experience and expertise of the chosen Motorcycle Accident Lawyer on how much and how soon can he help the customer recover both financially and with minimal harassment.

Selecting the Right Motorcycle Helmet

Selecting the Right Motorcycle Helmet

Having the proper safety equipment is very important when you are operating or riding on a motorcycle. While a helmet is the most important piece of safety equipment, it will only protect you if it the right type of helmet and it fits properly. Have you ever seen a young child riding on a motorcycle wearing an adult size helmet? In the event of an accident, the helmet would offer no protection to the child’s skull at all.

It is very important that you try on any motorcycle helmet to ensure a proper fit. If you decide to make a purchase over the internet or from a catalog, make sure you are able to return it for a refund if it doesn’t fit well. Keep in mind that each manufacturer sizes their helmets differently. Just because you currently own a size large doesn’t mean that is what you will wear in a different brand. For best results through the mail or internet, measure the circumference of your head and ask them to give you the helmet dimensions. Never purchase a used motorcycle helmet because it may have been involved in an accident and it won’t protect you as it was designed to.

For the best results, try on motorcycle helmets with any accessories you will generally have while riding. For example, many women like to have their hair in a ponytail but may have it straight while trying on a helmet. If you wear prescription glasses while operating your motorcycle, then make sure you take them with you when you are trying on helmets.

A motorcycle helmet needs to fit very securely. Make sure it surrounds your entire head. The chin straps are adjustable but put them in place to ensure you can get them tight enough to fit your face shape. You should also try on the same brand of helmet in one size larger and one size smaller just to make sure you do in fact have the best fitting helmet for your head. For added comfort, consider getting a motorcycle helmet that offers air vents. You can easily slide them opened or closed to allow more air to circulate while wearing it.

You will find motorcycle helmets made from a variety of materials. For the best in safety and quality, choose one that is made from organic fiberglass and layers of carbon fibers. This combination creates a very powerful shock absorbent shell. You also want to make sure the liner features a three layer system. This will offer you additional shock absorption.

If you plan to ride your motorcycle a great deal, consider getting a motorcycle helmet that allows you to easily change the visor. This is a great option for riding during the day and the night. Make sure the visors are fog resistant and offer impact resistance.

Investing in a quality helmet that offers the protection you need while riding a motorcycle isn’t going to be cheap, but it may well be one of the most important investments you make in your life. Statistics show that motorcycle riders who wear a helmet have a 35% less chance of suffering from a head injury. You can fit a helmet that fits well and even have it custom painted to match your motorcycle.

PPPPP

Question by : Revised my first few paragraphs what do you think now?
I posted this earlier and I think it's a lot better now. If this is your first time reading I wrote some background information for you. Let me know what you think. I love hearing feed back and suggestions.

Kendall Rose Harlot is not known for her patient manner but she was known as Bobby 'Ice' Harlots daughter. Ice is known as The Black Crows, an outlaw motorcycle gang, president. Kendall Rose left her small town in Maine along with the reputation that it carried shortly after her mothers gang related death five years ago for college in New York City. When her quick temper and bad timing get her in trouble with the wrong people she has no where to go but home. When she returns home she realizes that nothing has changed including the chemistry with Rocky, her childhood best friend. When her NYC trouble catches up to her the life she has been running from for years might be the only thing that can save her...

Riding It Out-

She remembers every single detail of that day five years ago. She remembers the noise the gun made, the way he cocked it and smiled right before he pulled the trigger. He didn't’t have one ounce of regret on his face. He walked away proud knowing what he had done had earned him respect. She remembers the way it felt when the blood splattered across her new graduation dress. She remembers her mothers face right before she hit the floor, shocked and confused as she grabbed her chest struggling for each breath. She remembers hearing her own cries of hysteria while watching her mother whimper in agony. She remembers how pale she was and she knew right then she was dying if not already dead when they carried her out of the house. Watching your mom get murdered right in front of you is something you never forget. Kendall Rose Harlot knew all about that.

After another hour of just sitting and watching her blank computer screen Kendall decided to give it up for now. Today wasn't’t the day to write an article about the number one cause of death in America. In a couple of hours she was going out with some friends to relax and try not to think about what was happening on this day five years ago. She picked up her phone and dialed her brother’s house. It was a yearly tradition they had become a custom to. She would call and they would talk about everything else but their mom and then they would get into a fight about how she needed to call her father. She decided to hang up instead she needed to do something before she started this.

Kendall walked into her bedroom turned on ‘Let It Be’ which was her mother’s favorite song and stared at a picture of her mother. Most people would cry but Kendall didn't’t or she couldn't’t she honestly didn't’t know the answer to that anymore. She continued to stare in awe at the picture of her beautiful mother. It was when she was about twenty five years old, a year older then Kendall was now. They shared so much in common. The mess of strawberry blonde curls that they both hated so much along with the porcelain skin that was soft as it looked, the typical freckles the covered only their long slim noses and high cheek bones. Oh and don’t forget those piercing blue eyes that looked like an ocean, full of light greens and blues. It amazed Kendall how much they favored each other. Her mother was curvy and tall. Kendall however had a scrawny frame with curves no where insight. She had managed to get some muscle on her from running and working out three times a week or whenever she had the time. Her cell rung before she could continue her thoughts, it was Sammy.

“Hey.” Kendall simply said like it was just another day.

I know this takes a lot of time and I appreciate all who take the time to read it and comment. Seriously thanks!!

Best answer:

Answer by S H
Better but not perfect. Work on it more. Also remove the last line of the first para. Also, 'she had managed to get some muscle on her from ...' sounds wrong. Work on changing it.
All the best.

Question by LAW: 2004 Explorer Sport Trac. I'm looking for a lowering kit for my truck. Not slammed, just 2-3 inches.?
Where can I find one? All the Explorer sites have kits for up to 01! Custom can be really costly and I would like to avoid that route. I have 22" wheels and 305/40ZR22 tires, still too much gap. I don't haul anything but my motorcycle on occassion, so rear travel is not a real concern. Going to upgrade the shocks when I drop it.

Best answer:

Answer by indianajones47150
Look in the back of sport truck magazine for companies selling lowering kits.

Custom Harley-Davidson - The Ultimate Adventure

There's no doubt that the name Harley-Davidson carries a tradition that makes owning any kind of Harley a status symbol in itself. That anyone can customize their Harley-Davidson to ascend the ranks of mere legend and step into the realm of total unrivaled singularity makes the appeal even more enticing.

Going back 105 years, the name and reputation of Harley-Davidson has withstood the ravages of time, financial crisis, and competition. Outlasting their original peers, Indian and Excelsior, HD has outfitted racers, the military in the two great wars, state patrols, and the average citizen. No other motorcycle outfit has the tradition and history that surrounds the legend of the almighty HOG.

Though anyone can own their own Harley, the rebel image remains, and the meek still shy away from ownership. Who, really, doesn't have a streak of rebelliousness hidden underneath the structured layers of civility? With one swift decision, secret rebels can evolve in all shapes and sizes and create their own custom Harley-Davidson and feed the animal that lurks within us all.

People who have never felt the freedom and power of a Harley nevertheless wear jackets, shirts and boots, tote pendants and key chains, don hats and gloves with the HD logo proudly etched into their wares. Why there are even golf balls with the world-famous bar and shield logo painted along with the Nike brand. Everyone wants to be a HOG member (Harley Owners Group) one way or another.

The novelty and legend just keeps getting better, too. With the truly amazing Harley-Davidson Museum now open in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, everyone can experience the thrill that riders have known for years.

One of the defining and creative elements for Harley owners is the honor of owning their own custom Harley-Davidson. Combine a matchless blend of frame and chassis, fork and pipes, fenders, tank, handlebars, linkage, wheels, engine, transmission and electrical components, and anything else you want on your custom Harley-Davidson. All parts: grips, pegs, kickstands, mirrors, pulleys, seats, shocks, tires, lights, blinkers; and accessories - the list is nearly endless - can be chosen to your delight, to your whim, to your inner rebel, making your custom Harley truly peerless.

Throw in your choice of clothing and the plain uniqueness of you, and your custom HOG will be a treasure for decades to come. Because the rep, build and reliability of the Harley are unparalleled, you can count on having something awesome. Owning your own unique blend of this incomparable motorcycle is to have something that will forever be yours alone. Get going and start building your very own custom Harley-Davidson!

Question by Condor: I can't decide on which Harley to buy...?
I am 16 and buying my first Harley. This may come to a shock to most motorcycle riders...a tennager riding a harley and not a crotch rocket... But anyways, I want to get the 1200 Custom but I'm not sure. I don't really want the xl883 because I don't like how low the handlebars are. The 1200 custom just looks the best to me based on all the pictures and videos I have seen. Any advice or suggestions?

Recall Procedures for Defective Motorcycles

Not all motorcycle accidents are caused by road recklessness. At times, accidents happen due to defects in a motorcycle or its parts.

What are you going to do when you find out or you have been informed of defective parts in your motorcycle?

Consumer product defects and recalls are a common occurrence anywhere. Concerning motorcycles and other vehicles, safety recalls are undertaken by either the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the vehicle manufacturers themselves. This is in response to a discovered defect in a vehicle or a component of a vehicle.

A defect can be discovered in several ways including: in-house probe conducted by manufacturers, via customer complaints, or through unfortunate accidents related to the defect.

Thus, it is important to understand the procedure followed in vehicle recalls, and the respective responsibilities of those involved.

Whether a safety recall is conducted by the vehicle manufacturer, or is ordered by the NHTSA, a public report must be filed giving the following descriptions:

•	The safety-related defect or noncompliance with a federal motor vehicle safety standard

•	The number of involved vehicle/equipment

•	The major events that resulted in the recall determination

•	A description of the remedy

•	A schedule for the recall

Manufacturers have a duty to notify owners of recalled vehicles or vehicle equipment. For vehicle recalls, manufacturers check their own records of vehicle purchasers with current information on state vehicle registration. For equipment or parts recalls, manufacturers must notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment.

Importantly, even without a notification of a recall, if your motorcycle or other item of equipment is the subject of a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy or replace it with the right one.

Under federal law, safety problems must be dealt with accordingly without cost to the consumers. Each safety recall is monitored by the NHTSA to ensure that manufacturers provide owners with safe, free, and effective remedies.

Once a defect determination is made, the manufacturers are given three legal options to correct the errors: repair, replacement, or refund. The manufacturer may choose to repair the vehicle; replace the vehicle with an identical or similar vehicle; or refund the purchase price in full, minus a reasonable allowance for depreciation.

In the case of equipment, including tires and child safety seats, the manufacturer can either repair or replace.

As a duty, the NHTSA also releases monthly public lists of motor vehicle safety recalls. These lists identify the make and model of the vehicle or equipment involved, with a brief description of the safety problem. The lists are often published to alert consumers about a product’s safety problems, and to encourage them to take action.

If there are issues associated with the brakes, chain, shock absorbers, toe clips, the rear wheels, or tires, a safety recall may be instigated.

If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident due to a defective or recalled motorcycle or motorcycle part, you must immediately contact a motorcycle accident lawyer who can help you obtain damages for your injuries.

It is also important that you contact a lawyer in order to ensure that all your rights are being fully observed. In cases of motorcycle accidents, you may always depend on the abilities and experience of a lawyer in pursuing personal injury claims.

Question by John W: Need help choosing my second bike (motorcycle)?
I started riding in '07 when I took the MSF course, got my license, and picked up a leftover '06 SV650 (naked).
Since getting that I put on a custom valved Ohlins racing shock, redid the front forks with new springs and oil, lost about 70lbs (of myself), and put 12000 miles of Allegany Mountain twisties and 125mph straights on the sucker.
It's been fun, but I'm looking to upgrade.

The things I'm looking for are more torque (I like my low-end, but I'll take it where I can get it), more speed (don't worry about "where" or "when" I'll be able to use 150+, I'd just like to have that ability in the event I choose to use it), I'd prefer a full fairing, and I want to stay under ~$ 12k US for a base unit.

A few bikes I'm seriously considering right now include the Ducati 848, Aprilia RSV 1000 R, Triumph Daytona 675, Suzuki GSX-R Series (excluding Hayabusa), Honda Interceptor (VFR800), Honda CBR Series.

I've already decided that if I go naked I want a Triumph Speed Triple, I however would prefer something with a fairing after riding my naked SV at speed. This means I'm basically looking for a supersport to put up against the Speed Triple and decide which of the two gets my attention the best.

I do mostly street riding, but like the option of track days. I mainly ride around looking for good turns to play around on, but also open it up on a straight when I have the chance. I'd like to be able to fill it up with gas and ride until it hits E without wanting to die.
I'm a large/heavy guy. 5' 11", 315. I ride solo, but because of my weight you should think of me as 2 people (it makes a big difference between if I get a 600 or 1000 inline 4).

Am I correct in assuming a 600 inline 4 might be a little less than what I'm looking for? I want a very noticeable improvement in power over my 645cc v-twin.

Insurance is a non-issue (yeah I know, a CBR1000RR is like $ 3700 a year for me... I'll worry about that later). I simply help steering myself in the right direction for what I'm looking for, as from my perspective NOTHING seems to meet what I want. I need outside opinions.
No SV100's please, I think the SV's are ugly as sin. Great bikes, but very ugly.

And yes, I can locate an 848 and RSV1000R for $ 12k or under.
*SV1000's .
Jim!
Actually you're correct that I'm not right in the head. I'm an A-type personality with risk taking behavior. I was a volunteer firefighter for 4 years (2000-2004), and often do things I likely should not. The only reason I'm still alive is a combination of luck and the ability to recognize a close call and dial it back just a hair (and believe me their were a few in the beginning). The largest unknown is how other drivers (ie: cagers) will react. I know the road, I know my tires, I know what I can and can't do. It's being on a busy highway where things get dangerous.
If you email me I'd be happy to provide pictures or any other proof you require.
I honestly thought I was a typical guy who likes to ride. Apparently I am not.
I like that idea, so thank you.

Great Tips For Preparing Your Motorcycle For a Fun Summer of Riding

When spring fever hits, it's hard to restrain the excitement and urge to get outside and enjoy the outdoors, especially for bikers who have been able to enjoy their favorite pastime during winter. Although you may be anxious to hug the open road on your motorcycle right away, if you take the proper precautions when removing your bike from winter storage, it can save you time and money, as well as increase your safety. Use these helpful hints when preparing your motorcycle for your summer adventures:

Inspect your fuel tank - Basem Wasef, an expert author on motorcycle topics for About.com, provides some great insight into preparing your motorcycle for summer riding. Wasef recommends that you inspect your fuel tank by opening the cap and determining whether the fuel is clean or not. If you notice any decay or buildup of residue, drain the tank, and then clean the carburetor and fuel lines before running the engine.

Kevin Crockett, an expert author for Ezine.com and motorcycle enthusiast confirms the inherent risk that old fuel can cause by claiming, "old fuel can cause your fuel lines and carburetor to clog from gum." He also recommends checking the tank for rust. "If the tank has rusted, you will need to clean and seal it to prevent flakes of rust from clogging the carburetor jets."

Finish this step by adding a fresh tank of fuel before you ride your motorcycle.

Change your fluids - Drain old engine oil, replace the filter, and then replenish the engine with new oil before you ride your motorcycle this summer. Other fluids you need to check include transmission fluid, brake fluid and coolant.

Lubricate cylinders - Wasef claims that by removing the spark plugs and pouring two tablespoons of oil into the spark plug ports, you can lubricate the top portion of the cylinder walls. This can be useful if you failed to spray fogging oil on the top of the cylinder when you prepared your motorcycle for winter storage. Examine the chain and lubricate it, if necessary.

Charge your battery - Inspect the battery leads for corrosion. Wasef advises topping off each battery cell with distilled water before charging. Make certain the battery is fully charged before going on your first motorcycle ride. Otherwise, you run the risk of becoming stranded because of a depleted battery.

Inflate your tires and shocks - Inspect the tires for hairline cracks, bubbles, weak spots or stress marks and address each issue separately. Inflate each tire to the specified quantity of air pressure. Continue by inspecting the shocks. Give the kickstand a few trial kicks, and lubricate it if uncooperative.

Wash and wax your motorcycle - Thoroughly clean the exterior of your motorcycle using a gentle cloth, and then protect it with a thin coat of wax.

Use a safety checklist - The Motorcycle Safety Foundation offers a free safety checklist that you should use every time you ride. The T-CLOCS checklist, which stands for tires and wheels, controls, lights, oil, chassis and stands, covers every critical safety aspect on your motorcycle.

Finally, don't get caught in the rain without your rain gear! Protect yourself and your motorcycle against theft, damage from collision, vandalism and more with affordable motorcycle insurance.
